On The Ballot In 2012

The following offices will be on the ballot in the year 2012.

U.S. President
seat currently held by President Obama

U.S. House of Representatives
seats currently held by Representative Raúl Labrador and Representative Mike Simpson

Supreme Court Justice
[decided at Primary Election]
seat currently held by Justice Daniel Eismann

Court of Appeals Judge
[decided at Primary Election]
seats currently held by Judge David W. Gratton and Judge John M. Melanson

Idaho Legislature
all seats in the House (70) and Senate (35)

Any Constitutional Amendments passed by the Legislature and any Initiative or Referendum Propositions that qualify for ballot status.

County offices on the ballot will include County Commissioner District 1 (2 year term), County Commissioner District 3 (4 year term), County Sheriff, County Prosecuting Attorney, Magistrate Judges and Precinct Committeepersons. Other offices and issues (if any) will vary by county. Check with your County Clerk for more specific information.

NOTE: Magistrate Judges do not file for retention until August.

 

May 15, 2012 is the next Idaho Primary Election.


You can go to Idahovotes.gov for information on important dates for voters. You can check your registration, the location of your polling place and the status of your absentee ballot.

Candidate filing for most offices has concluded. April 17th is the last day for an individual to file a declaration to be a write-in candidate in the Primary Election.

President

  • Partisan presidential candidates will be chosen at Party Caucus by the political parties that have ballot status in Idaho and will not appear on the Primary Election ballot. Contact the Party for more information about their Caucus.
  • Independent

  • Contact your County Clerk's office for filing forms for County Candidates and Political Subdivision Candidates.
